In this study, we have produced self-assembled nanoparticles that can efficiently deliver small interfering RNA (siRNA) to the tumor cell. The nanoparticles were prepared by self-assembling process. Briefly, chitosan, STAT3 siRNA and heparin were mixed to make a nanoparticle via electrostatic interaction. We characterized physicochemical properties of the nanoparticles and knockdown efficiency of STAT3 production in cancer cells (HeLa, 4T1). This study suggests that stable expression of STAT3 has potential as a therapeutic strategy for cancer. |
