제목 | Shape Control of Sr4Al14O25:Eu2+ Phosphor Particles for white LED Application |
초록 | In recent years, the white LEDs by combination of a near-UV LED chip and red, green, blue phosphors have attracted much attention due to their advantages such as including tunable CCTs, tunable CIE chromaticity coordinates, and excellent CRI values. Therefore, it is necessary to develop the phosphors that could be effectively excited in the near-UV range. To obtain the well-dispersed encapsulant in fabrication of LEDs, in addition, it is important to synthesize the shape-controlled phosphor particles with narrow-size distribution. In this work, the shape control of Sr4Al14O25:Eu2+ phosphor particles was attempted using the liquid-phase reaction composed of two co-precipitation stages; firstly, spherical hydrated alumina particles are precipitated, and then metal oxalates with hydrated alumina are co-precipitated. The shape-controlled Sr4Al14O25:Eu2+ phosphors were analyzed and characterized by X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscope and photoluminescence spectrometer. The preparation conditions for the shape-controlled Sr4Al14O25:Eu2+ phosphor particles with narrow size distribution were optimized. A single phase of Sr4Al14O25:Eu2+ phosphor was formed by firing at 1100 °C. From SEM observation, it was confirmed that the phosphor particles have a spherical shape with around 0.7 μm of diameter. The emission spectrum showed a broad band centered at 497 nm, due to the typical 4f65d1 to 4f7 transition of Eu2+. |
