MgF2/ZnS double-layer antireflection coatings for high-efficiency Ⅲ-Ⅴ solar cell |

Antireflection coatings have been studied in various optical fields for increasing transmittance. In the case of solar cell, while zero reflectance can be obtained from a single layer antireflection coating only at one wavelength, it can be achieved by two-layer antireflection coatings at wider band wavelength, leading to higher efficiency. In this work, we report the effect of processing conditions on the MgF2/ZnS double-layer antireflection coatings. MgF2/ZnS films were deposited on the GaAs substrate by rf magnetron sputter. Refractive indices of each layer were measured by ellipsometry. Double-layer antireflection coating can be estimated using a refractive index and film thickness. In accordance with the prediction, much wider band could be obtained from present double layer coatings. Detailed data will be presented for a discussion. |
