The removal of nitric oxide gas by microalgae and the change of cellular lipid content |
초록 |
A microalgal photobioreactor employing a green algae Scenedesmus sp. was used in treating a model flue gas which was composed of CO2 and nitric oxide (NO). The gas mixture was continuously supplied to the algal reactor, and CO2 and NO were successfully removed in the presence of a proper solubilization agent. We investigated the lipid content in the resulting algal biomass for its possible use as a source of biodiesel oil. The lipid accumulation is accelerated when nitrogen is limited or at a high C/N ratio. The low N content resulted in a high lipid content, which indicated that the nitrogen-limiting condition favors lipid production. |
