Zeolites having different structures and acidity have been widely used for various chemical reactions, and the synthesis of zeolites without using expensive organic structure-directing agent (OSDA) has been largely attractive. To meet the requirements, a simple seed-derived synthetic method was applied to synthesize a highly crystalline FER, and the seed-derived FER was found to be effective for dimethyl ether (DME) carbonylation with less coke deposition. In the present study, the seed-derived FERs with different seed content were successfully synthesized and the effects of seed content were verified by measuring the defect sites as well as acidic properties to optimize the FER zeolite with higher DME carbonylation activity. |
