The power conversion efficiency (PCE) and stability of organic photovoltaics (OPVs) can be enhanced by modifying indium tin oxide (ITO) electrode. To enhance the work function of ITO and make its surface hydrophobic, triethoxy(1H,1H,2H,2H-perfluoro-1-octyl)silane (FOTES) was introduced as a self-assembly monolayer (SAM) material. The work function of FOTES-ITO was 5.2 eV, while that of ITO was 4.4 eV. After FOTES-SAM treatment, the surface of ITO changed hydrophobic from hydrophilic. The devices were fabricated on FOTES-ITO. To compare performance of devices, we fabricated devices without a conducting polymer buffer layer. As a result, the photovoltaic performance and stability of devices was enhanced. |
