Li metal is attracting attention as an anode material. However, Li metal reacts with the electrolyte to form a non-uniform and unstable solid-electrolyte interface (SEI). This naturally formed SEI protects the highly reactive Li metal surface, but is a major cause of the growth of Li dendrites due to its fragile nature. In this study, in order to suppress the growth of Li dendrites, an organic/inorganic composite artificial film having self-healing property was fabricated and coated on the electrode. PVDF-HFP, which has ion conductivity, was used as an organic material, and KI, which can be converted into LiI by reacting with Li later, to produce a self-healing effect was used as an inorganic material. The application of the PVDF-HFP/KI composite artificial layer was confirmed to have the stabilizing effect of the Li metal anode through electrochemical tests. |
