Interfacial and Dispersive Evaluation of Carbon Fiber/Modified CNT-Epoxy Composites using Electro-Micromechanical Technique and Wettability Test |

Interfacial Evaluation of CNT-epoxy composites was investigated with different surface modified methods of CNT. CNT was treated using a surfactant (Tritone X-100) for better dispersion after acid treatment. Electrical resistance of surface modified CNT-epoxy composites was measured using electro-micromechanical technique. The volumetric electrical resistance and turbidity were measured to evaluate the dispersion degree comparatively. Self-sensing and interfacial properties were investigated by cyclic loading test and contact resistance. The surface energy and work of adhesion between carbon fiber and CNT-epoxy composites were measured based on static and dynamic contact angles to correlate with the results of electro-micromechanical technique.
