제목 Relation Between Milling Condition and Elastic Modulus of Various Glasses for Plasma Display Panel
초록 Milling has been one of the most important unit operations in the many fields such as chemical, pharmaceutical and material industries. In recent years, much attention has been paid on fine and dry milling due to its importance for its applications. The PDP (Plasma display panel) manufactures utilize various frits prepared by fine and dry milling due to sintering temperature, transmittance, and risks of contamination and changing composition. In order to develop proper frit conditions for PDP the aim of this study is to conduct a dry milling operation depending on various glass frits. We determined the frit size as a function of milling condition. The morphologies of frits were observed by SEM and the elastic modulus of cullet was determined by a nanoindentation. As a result, glass frit having high elastic modulus was difficult to crush in dry milling. It means that the high elastic modulus of glass cullet should be required with the high impact energy during dry milling. We suggest that dry milling is effective for a higher elastic modulus of glass cullet. The main purpose is to find out a relationship between milling and elastic modulus of glass and to give preliminary results for dry milling.
