Colloidal Nanocrystals are widely used in various applications such catalysts, electronic devices, phosphors, and magnetics. The synthesis of highly uniform nanomaterials with controlled size, shape, and compositions is paramount to precisely understanding their physical properties that are able to tune by changing the structural parameters. Here, we describe novel chemistry to synthesize highly uniform copper nanocrystals with precise control of the size and shape. By changing the reaction parameters, we are able to synthesize the copper nanocrystals in different shapes such as nanospheres, nanowires, and nanocubes. Composition of copper nanocrystals are also tunable by adding different types of dopants. We measures electrochemical properties of copper nanocrystals to understand their size and shape dependent physical properties.
