제목 Oxidation resistance of highly continuous and dense CVD-SiC coated Carbon fibers for the High Temperature Heat-Resistive materials
초록 The continuous SiC coatings on Carbon fibers were performed to improve the oxidation resistive properties of Carbon fibers at high temperature using CVD process. The dense and uniform SiC coating layers with fine scale nanostructures were deposited by controlling input gas ratio of the source gas flow and increasing the reaction time from 30min to 3hour under the deposition temperature of 1100 ℃. The results reveal that control of the coating layer thickness is very important for enhancement of oxidation resistance of SiC coated Carbon fibers because of increasing the onset temperature of the oxidative weight loss. The thermo gravimetric analysis shows that the oxidation resistance of the Carbon fibers can be improved by depositing the SiC coating layer on Carbon fibers. This suggests that the oxidation resistance of Carbon fibers with SiC coating layer about 636 ㎚ improves under the oxidative atmosphere at high temperature. Specially, the dense and continuous SiC coating layer using CVD process increases the Carbon fiber’s oxidation resistive properties.
