제목 Preparation of hybrid nanocomposite modified PVA/clay films for food packaging applications.
초록 Since its starting in the 19th century, modern food packaging has made great advances as results of global trends and consumer preferences. These advances are oriented to obtain improved food quality and safety. Moreover, with the move toward globalization, food packaging requires also longer shelf life, along with the monitoring of safety and quality based upon international standards. Incorporation of inorganic nanoparticles into a polymer matrix can significantly affect the properties of the matrix. The resulting composite might exhibit improved thermal, mechanical, rheological, electrical, catalytic, fire retardancy and optical properties. In this work, the PVA modified silica materials with various functional groups used to decrease the water vapor transmission rate (WVTR) and the oxygen transmission rate (OTR). The modified coating layer was prepared to reduce the oxygen affinity and the water affinity by interactions and cross-linking between silica group.
