Silica Nanotubes (SNT) has become an important material due to its significant diversified application such as display materials on modern electronic devices like television, monitor cellular phone, adsorption, catalysis, hydrogen storage and so on. Mostly their systhesis were succeeded through gelation agents based on proteins. In this study glycyldodecylamide (GDA) was used as the template which allowed synthesis of SNT through hydrolysis /condensation of Tetraethyl orthosilicate (TEOS) on cold and ambient conditions, which gave wide nanotube and fibrous hollow tube respectively, after where dissolution of surfactant was performed but the method seems somewhat challenging to obtain highly ordered and well defined morphology. The aim of study was to investigate the synthetic parameters such as Temperature, Aging Time and GDA/TEOS Ratios on Synthesis of Silica Nanotubes based on GDA as a Template desolved by water or ethanol (EtOH) and optimized parameters for individual SNTs. |
