Study on verification for affinity to antimicrobial peptide PG-1 of DNA aptamer in in vitro using various assay methods |
초록 |
Antimicrobial peptides are used in various organisms as a defense system against infection. The peptides are critical to bacteria and fungi, however have slight toxicity in mammalian and plant cells. For this reason, it is considered that antimicrobial peptides are alternative matters for defensing against microbial infection. PG-1 (Protegrin-1) is one of the antimicrobial peptide in the treatment of local or systemic infections. For expand application of PG-1 peptide, we graft the aptamers. Aptamers are consist of single-stranded DNA or RNA and they can bind to various targets with high affinity and specificity. In a previous study, we developed DNA aptamer that has specific affinity to PG-1 peptide. In this study, we proof the specific affinity between PG-1 and DNA aptamer using various assay methods. This study contribute to development of natural antimicrobial material.
