제목 Synthesis of block copolymers of vinylic monomers and amino acids and their applications for well-defined nanostructures
초록 The hydrophobic vinylic polymer block was initially prepared by atom transfer radical polymerization (ATRP) and end-functionalized as the macro initiator for the ring opening polymerization of an appropriate α-aminoacid-N-carboxyanhydrides (NCA) monomers. Our interest in these types of block copolymers, their self-assembling behavior, ability to combine various synthesis methods and the wide application areas, led us to consider the possibility of utilizing ‘molecular chimera’. Polymers with thiol functionality are of great interest because of the special properties imparted by the thiol groups. They for instance can self-assemble into monolayers on gold substrates; however, the synthesis of thiol group bearing polymers involve tedious chemical routes. The synthesis and the self-assembly of a new class of amphiphilic poly[vinyl-block-(amino acid)] copolymer and demonstrate their ability to conjugate with nanoparticles, inhibiting particle aggregation are to be presented.
