제목 Effect of water and free fatty acids on the yield of FAME in transesterification using catalyst-free supercritical methanol
초록 In the alkali-catalyzed transesterification of palm oil, residual free fatty acids and water produce negative effects, since the presence of free fatty acids and water consumes catalyst, causes soap formation and reduces catalyst effectiveness. Therefore, all of that result in a low conversion. The object of this study was to investigate the effect of the content of water and free fatty acids on the yield of methyl using catalyst-free supercritical methanol.
