The development of the hydrogels with high toughness and stretchability is one of the most important topics in soft matter research. In this presentation, the design of a dual physical crosslinked network for the fabrication of ultra-stretchable tough hydrogels is covered. Outstanding mechanical properties are achieved by the synergistic contribution of reversibly disruptable ionic and metal-coordination bonds and the highly elastic network formed by the macro-crosslinker. Secondly, double network hydrogels containing conducting fillers were simply prepared by using microfluidic devices in aqueous condition. We envision their application for the wearable sensor that accurately detect human motion such as bending of finger, mild touching, walking, running, and jumping in real time. Based on the high linearity and reliability, strain sensors enable to quantitatively convert measured resistance change to the extent of stimuli as well as the simple detection of the motion. |
