Oxidative Dehydrogenation of Propane over Metal Oxide Supported TUD-1 Type Mesoporous Catalysts with CO2 |

It was discovered that not only lower alkanes but also alkylaromatics could be dehydrogenated more efficiently when substrates react with CO2. This behavior of enhancement both in activity and selectivity led to define CO2 as soft oxidant. Even though CO2 could contribute to improve stability of catalysts and activity as well, heavy coke formation and deactivation of the catalysts are still challengeable, in particular, lower alkanes like propane. The comparative study in oxidative dehydrogenation of propane was investigated as a new on-purpose propylene process over metal incorporated TUD-1 catalysts in the absence and presence of CO2. The results varied with the acid-base properties as well as the redox properties which are induced from the different combination of metal oxides on TUD-1 type mesoporous materials. And the role of CO2 was discussed how it contributes to the increased activity and stability of the catalysts based on the effects of metal oxides and role of TUD-1 support. |
