The electrical and optical properties of conjugated polymers (CPs) are essential for the performance of organic electronics. Those properties could be controlled at the organic molecular level as well as film processing of CPs. As a method for growing conjugated backbone with a high degree of pi-orbital overlap, solution casting polymerization and solid state polymerization method were adopted and these synthetic methods were integrated with device fabrication process. While SCP method afforded thin film applicaton such as displays and film harvester, the SSP method was specifically useful for nanoporous photoanodes in which CPs were prepared insitu from the monomers without any catalysts or oxidants. The effect of monomer structures and suitability of CP films for organic electronics will be presented. |
