제목 Fabrication of Ni-doped BiVO4, a ternary metal oxide semiconductor as efficient visible–light driven photocatalyst for waste water treatment
초록 BiVO4 a mixed metal oxide with scheelite structure has been recognized as the most challenging photocatalyst for environment and energy conservation. The narrow band gap energy (2.4 eV - 2.9 eV) value for various structures, non-toxic, cheap, highly stable towards photocorrosion, n-type semiconductor nature and coloristic property makes BiVO4 a potential multifunctional material. Moreover, the probability of substitution of several atoms with different oxidation state in both Bi and V sites make BiVO4 easier for electronic structure modification, which is one of the key factor that governs the photocatalytic efficiency. However, the slow charge carrier rate that may results into the recombination of electrons and holes provide plenty of rooms for performance optimization. Hence, among various strategies applied for the improvement of photocatalytic efficiency, doping of different metals into the lattice of BiVO4 is one of them. Here we have doped Ni- metal into BiVO4 lattice and their efficiency for removal of various effluents as well as inactivation of micro-organisms present in waste water has been studied.
