제목 | ONE-STEP AND EASY FABRICATION OF ZINC OXIDE ANODE FOR LITHIUM-ION BATTERY VIA ATOMIC LAYER DEPOSITION |
초록 | The choice of Li-ion batteries is not only the power source of the portable electronic gadgets but also for the next-generation electric vehicles. Zinc oxide (ZnO) is a potential candidate as an anode material for the Li-ion batteries due to its earth abundance, low cost, eco-friendly nature with high theoretical capacity (987 mAh g‒1). On the other hand, it can also be easily synthesized by a variety of deposition techniques. In this study, the ALD-ZnO thin films on stainless steel (SS) current collector were directly used as an anode material in Li-ion battery without any carbon and binder. The electrochemical performance of ZnO anode was investigated by cyclic voltammetry measurements against Li which showed prominent redox-peaks during both charging and discharging process. A high capacity at the 1st discharge cycle and a stable discharge capacity up to 100 cycles were obtained after 20 charge-discharge cycles for this anode. Moreover, this work demonstrates a generic approach to study the electrochemical responses of a pristine active material with desired stoichiometry that can be fabricated with high precision by ALD. |
