Effect of PVP Molecular Weight on Release Property of Olmesartan Solid Dispersion |

In this study, Solid dispersion was prepared by using spray-drying method. This solid dispersions was formulated with carvedilol and polyvinylpyrrolidone(PVP) to enhance the dissolution rates of poorly water-soluble drugs. Scanning electron microscope(SEM) were used to analyze surface of solid dispersion samples. DSC and XRD was used to analyze the crystallinity of solid dispersion. Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy(FT-IR) were used to analyze the chemical structural characteristic of solid dispersion. DSC and XRD shows that drug crystallinity was changed. FT-IR shows that solid dispersion chemical structure comparing drug chemical structure was changed. The in vitro release behavior of solid dispersion presented at simulated gastric juice(pH 1.2). The dissolution rate of olmesartan was dramatically higher than pure drug and initial release rate of olmesartan was decreased, as increasing polymer content rate. |
