Self-heating of Magnetite Nanoparticles for Potential Hyperthermia Application |
초록 |
Magnetic nanoparticles under an AC magnetic field may show heating effects posed by relaxation losses during the magnetization reversal process of the particles. This feature holds the key to applying magnetic nanoparticles to hyperthermia cancer treatment. Thus, while the overarching goal of our research is to develop targeted biomedical stent coating materials for cancer detection and therapy, we report herein the successful development and characterization of hydrophobic and hydrophilic magnetite nanoparticles and their abilities to generate heat induced by an external AC magnetic field. |
