The strontium-doped lanthanum manganites(LSM) are widely studied for their application as cathode materials in SOFCs. These Mn perovskites possess good high temperature phase stability in oxidizing atmosphere and their thermal expansion coefficients are close to that of YSZ electrolyte. Therefore, these LSM/YSZ composites can be used as anode materials in high temperature steam electrolysis. In this study LSM/YSZ composites were investigated using XRD, SEM, galvanodynamic polarization method, and A.C. impedance spectroscopy. For this purpose, the LSM perovskites were fabricated in powders by co-precipitation method and then were mixed with 8 mol% YSZ powders in different molar ratios. The optimum composite electrode was L60Y40 that fabricated by the co-precipitation method. Electrolysis potential was 1.23 V in 1 Acm-2 at 1,000 ℃. |
