PVDF composite membranes were prepared by using the sulfonated PVDF with sulfuric acid and PS crossliked DVB. The various ratio of PS/DVB were used, i.e. 96/4 wt%, 94/6, wt%, 92/8 wt%, 90/10 wt%. It was conformed that PS was filled in the pores of all PS/PVDF(polystyrene PVDF) membranes by the analysis of ATR-FTIR, SEM. It was revealed that all SPS/PVDF(sulfonated PS/PVDF) composite membranes had the similar structures regardless of styrene-DVB ratio, and that sulfone group decreased with increase of DVB. As the content of DVB increased, water and solvent contents and methanol cross-over decreased. It also showed that the water content and IEC were enhanced up to 40~100% and 3~4 times, respectively, than those of Nafion 117. It can be concluded that SPS/PVDF is able to be used for DMFC. |
