Modification of Patchy Micelles of Diblock Copolymers for Functional Supracolloidal Chains |

Anisotropic colloidal particles can be assembled into linear superstructures. Creating patches on colloidal particles is one of the effective strategies for producing anisotropic colloidal building blocks for supracolloidal chains. Recently we reported supracolloidal polymerization of patchy micelles which were converted from spherical micelles of diblock copolymers after crosslinking the cores. In this presentation, we modified patchy micelles by incorporating functional materials such as fluorescent dyes and plasmonic nanoparticles into the micellar cores. We also altered the number of patches on the micelles of diblock copolymers by changing the block ratio of copolymers. From these modified patchy micelles, we polymerized functional supracolloidal chains. |
