제목 Enhanced electron mobility in Tandem DSSCs composed of NiO-based photocathded
초록 The photovoltaic performance of tandem pn-dye-sensitized solar cells (pn-DSCs) has been limited by the poor performance of the available p-DSCs. A simplistic method of introducing a compact NiO blocking layer into a poor performing photocathode network of p-DSCs and pn-DSCs is presented to improve the photovoltaic performance using a cobalt-based redox mediator. The NiO blocking layer prepared via a simple spin-coating method using a nickel acetate precursor solution. For the photoelectrodes, we have selected well known SQ and P1 dyes for n-DSC and p-DSC, respectively, which showed a complementary nature in absorbing solar irradiation at different wavelengths. The fabricated tandem device showed an increased photovoltage compared to n-DSC, resulting in an overall photovoltaic performance of 1.486%. This performance is further improved to 1.913% by the introduction of an optimized NiO blocking layer to the photocathode.
