We demonstrate a simple, but straightforward process for fabricating gold double-ring structures using block copolymer corpuscle-like templates, combined via a surface energy modification. When the copolymer solutions containing small amounts of alcohol additives were spin-coated onto the surface energy modified substrates, the novel corpuscle-like templates were fabricated. Subsequent metal complexation and reduction processes enabled us to make gold double-ring structures. Moreover, this process can be extended to other metal precursors, including silver, copper, platinum, nickel, and so on. The novel metal double-ring arrays may be used in applications, such as optoelectronics, biosensors, and photonics |
