The object of this study was the selective separation of acetylsalicylic acid (ASA) using the molecularly imprinted polymers (MIPs). The MIPs were prepared with styrene, 4-vinylpyridine, templates (ASA and salicylic acid (SA)), and DVB. The removal template for each MIP was performed by the soxhlet and swelling process. The binding characteristics of MIPs and ASA and SA were investigated using equilibrium binding experiments. The adsorption ability of the MIPs was evaluated by measuring the adsorbed amounts for a similar imprinted template structure and the selectivity factor (α). The effects of pH and temperature on the selective separation were confirmed. |
