제목 Efficiency Enhancement Utilizing Auxiliary Substituents without Disturbing Excited State in Thermally Activated Delayed Fluorescence Emitters
초록 To achieve high performance organic light emitting diodes (OLED), development of thermally activated delayed fluorescence (TADF) emitters with high quantum efficiency is very important and is currently underway. This study aimed to selectively enhance the quantum efficiency while maintaining the emission energy of the backbone TADF. The emission state of the backbone TADF is originated from an intramolecular charge transfer state formed between the acceptor and the donor introduced at ortho- position of the acceptor. Here, the efficiency enhancement strategy is to introduce an auxiliary donor unit at para- position of the acceptor without disturbing the origin of emission state. Three auxiliary substituent-engineered TADF emitters were analyzed and evaluated. As a result, the external quantum efficiency increased from 15.8% to 22.7% without any spectral shift. Design strategy suggested in this work can be applied to build highly efficieny TADF derivatives.
