This study was examined to test the combustion properties of wood specimen for the constructional interiors, especially focusing on smoke performance index which is smoke hazard properties. Fire properties were measured by using a cone calorimeter (ISO 5660-1) and used cypress wood. The external heat flux was maintained at 50 kW/m2. The concentration of TiO2 was changed to obtain a blending ratio of proper concentration. Fire performance index-III increased by 3.2 ~ 4.6 times compared with uncoated specimens, respectively. And it increased in the order of Cypress, TiO2(A), TiO2(R)/Talc, TiO2(A)/Talc, TiO2(R). The fire growth index-III decreased by 66 ~ 92% and it decreased in order of Cypress, TiO2(A), TiO2(R), TiO2(A)/Talc, TiO2(R)/Talc. Fire risk index-IV decreased by 89 ~ 98% and it decreased in order of TiO2(A), TiO2(R), TiO2(A)/Talc, TiO2(R)/Talc. The fire risk properties of all specimens coated with flame retardant was reduced and TiO(R)/Talc was the best flame retardant. |
