제목 Effect of Ionic Group Position in Waterborne Polyurethanes
초록 Waterborne polyurethanes have been designed based on the different positions and concentrations of ionic groups and different molecular weights of polyol. It was found that dispersions containing ionic groups at the chain termini (called terminal ions) gave the smallest dispersion size, highest dispersion stability and viscosity, whereas hard ions containing ionic groups in hard segments gave the greatest water swelling and lowest dispersion stability. It was demonstrated that highly stable dispersions of high solid content can be obtained at low ionic content by simply incorporating the ionic groups at flexible chain ends. The results were interpreted in terms of high mobility and low free energy of chain ends. The tensile properties and dynamic mechanical properties showed similar values. These results showed that the concentration and position of ionic group do not have an influence on the mechanical properties.
