제목 Synthesis of Thermoresponsive Materials by Surface-Initiated, Atom Transfer Radical Polymerization
초록 We synthesized thermoresponsive materials by surface-initiated, atom transfer radical polymerization of N-isopropylacrylamide (NIPAAm) from the surface of various substrates, such as cross-linked dextran microspheres, gold nanoparticles, and gold plates. It was known that PNIPAAm has a lower critical solubility temperature of about 32 oC: PNIPAAm is hydrophilic below 32 oC, but it becomes hydrophobic in water above 32 oC. The resulting materials were characterized by FT-IR spectroscopy, transmission electron microscopy, and ellipsometry. In addition, we investigated the thermoresponsiveness of the resulting materials by dynamic light scattering and optical microscopy.
