제목 Molecularly imprinted polymer PLA nanoparticles for near infrared laser-induced drug release
초록 Herein, we developed the molecularly imprinted polymer poly(lactic acid) nanoparticles (MIP-PLA NPs) for drug release triggered by near infrared (NIR) laser. Melanin as a photosensitizer and poly(N-isopropylacrylamide-co-acrylamide) (PNIPAM) as thermosensitive polymer were added into PLA NPs. 5-fluorouracil (5-FU) as a template was imprinted to the surface of PLA NPs. MIP-PLA NPs had spherical shape more rough surface compared with non-imprinted PLA NPs. Uridine (UR) as a control was loaded into MIP-PLA NPs to confirm selective recognition of 5-FU. PLA NPs imprinted with 5-FU recognized selectively 5-FU more than UR. After NIR 808 nm laser irradiation at 1.5 W/cm2 for 7 min, the temperature of MIP-PLA NPs rose above lower critical solution temperature (LCST) of PNIPAM. As a result, the release rate of 5-FU from MIP-PLA NPs increased rapidly. These results suggest that the MIP-PLA NPs are expected to be useful as a drug carrier for inducing drug release by photo-heat conversion.
