Polyurethane additives with zwitterion and fluorine for anti-thrombotic and bacterial effect of polymeric medical devices |
초록 |
Zwitterionic groups have much attention in the area requiring anti-fouling effect. In addition, many researches have revealed that fluorinated polymers are resistant to bio-fouling. Anti-biofouling is one of good approaches to achieve resistance to bacteria and thrombus. Herein, we designed novel zwitterionic and fluorinated polyurethanes (ZFPU) additives to confer non-bacterial and -thrombotic effects and blended these with polyvinyl chloride (PVC). 1H NMR and FT IR analyses characterized the successful synthesis of ZFPU additives. We investigated the protein adsorption and water contact angle of additives-blended PVC films. Our results show that the addition of ZFPUs to PVC significantly lowered protein adsorption, bacterial adhesion and platelet adhesion. |
