제목 | Human exhalation CO2 reduction for fuel synthesis |
초록 | Human exhalation carbon dioxide can be used for the production of useful chemicals through photo-electrochemical conversion. The S doped TiO2 nanotubes by Ti mesh anodization were prepared as for a methanol selective nano-structures. Such a S doping allows, from one side, increase density of charge carriers in the conduction band of the photocathode and, on the other side, improves reactive surface state of the whole system. The new synthesized S doped anodized TiO2 nanotube arrays were steadily prepared and well characterized using UV-vis, TEM, XPS, XRD and SEM. The reduction of CO2 to methanol in liquid phase was analyzed by UV–vis spectrophotometry (UV 2600 Shimadzu UV–vis spectrophotometer) at the wavelength (λmax) of 395 nm. S doped TiO2 nanotube arrays exhibited higher photocurrent densities and enhanced photoelectrochemical CO2 reduction properties as a result of improved separation of photogenerated electron/hole pairs, carrier density and the faster electron transport rate due to the proper energy level state for visible light absorption and reactive surface state created by S doping.
