제목 Structural characterization of photoactive ZrO2/TiO2 systems and their investigation in photodegradation of organic pollutant
초록 Photoactive metal oxide heterogeneous catalysts capable of reducing non-biodegradable pollutants are highly needed for environmental purification. The present study reports a novel sol-gel method to synthesize pure TiO2 and ZrO2-TiO2 samples with Zr-to-Ti ratio between 0.75 and 3.2. Abnormal grain growth (AGG) was unexpectedly deduced in the samples calcined at ≤8000oC. The photocatalytic activities of the samples toward decolorization of methylene blue indicated that the efficiencies of the photocatalysts with Zr/Ti≤2.2 were superior to that of pure TiO2.
