Electrochemical properties of TiOF2 for elecricalcapacitor electrodes |

In this work, TiOF2 prepared by NF3 treatment of TiO2 precursor was found to induce changes in the structure and surface properties as well as the electrochemical properties compared to TiO2. The TiOF2 was changed crystal phase from TiO2 to fluorine doped anatase TiO2 with increasing NF3 treatment temperature. These structure changes were induced to decrease the Ti3+ ratio of TiOF2 surface. The specific capacitance of TiOF2 phase which was treated NF3 gas at 580 oC was observed seven-fold higher than that of anatase TiO2 in this study. The enhanced capacitance of TiOF2 could be expected to higher conductivity and charge transfer of TiOF2 phase than anatase TiO2, which was mainly attributed to the higher Ti3+ ratio. |
