Light weight of car has been focused due to high fuel price, environmental issue and resource depletion. Long fiber thermoplastic technology is known as the promising technology to contribute to high fuel efficiency by reducing cars’ plastic part weight. It has been replace many steel parts such as door plate module, front end module and other structural parts owing to its high stiffness and strength. Moreover, carbon fiber is expanding its territory for replacing other strong structural parts. We reviewed general information of long fiber thermoplastic technology and also introduced new process and material requirement to have good properties to be used for automotive interior trim. |
