Stimulating tumor cell clusters by an environmental stimuli-responsive self-folding |

The hydrogel has been studied for various applications. In this study, we present engineered extracellular matrix (EEM) consisting of two different layers with significantly different expansion ratio in response of the environments. This multi-layered extracellular matrix was prepared by assembling a bi-layered hydrogel, in which each layer consisted of poly(ethylene glycol) diacrylate (PEGDA) with different molecular weights and their concentrations. Then, tumor cell clusters were stimulated by the EEM coated with cell adhesion molecules and implanted on the CAM membrane. This study examines the effects of the engineered extracellular matrix on stimulating and regulating tumor cell clusters of the morphology, groth rates, and proangiogenic groth factor production. |
