The hydrogel has been studied for various applications. In this study, we present active extracellular matrix (ECM) consisting of two different layers with significantly different expansion ratio in response of the environments. This multi-layered extracellular matrix was prepared by assembling a bi-layered hydrogel, in which each layer consisted of poly(ethylene glycol) diacrylate (PEGDA) with different molecular weights and their concentrations. Then, characteristics of each layer of active ECM were examined by expansion ratio, swelling ratio and elastic modulus. The behavior of the expansion ratio was defined at different concentrations and temperatures. This study examines the effects of the active extracellular matrix on stimulating and regulating tumor cell clusters of the morphology, growth rates, and proangiogenic growth factor production. |
