In this study, biocompatible hydrogels with Curcuma longa, Indian spice turmeric with potent anti-inflammatory effect were prepared by freeze-thawing and γ-ray irradiation as agents in antiproliferative disease such as psoriasis, mycosis fungoides, and atopic dermatitis. Particularly, it showed excellent healing results as a consequence of long-term moisturizing effects on atopic wounds. Besides it can be easily attached to or detached from the skin without any trace and help patients to feel refreshment when attached. Based on this work, the Curcuma longa-loaded hydrogels can be potentially used as an alternative remedy for not only pruritus in atopic dermatitis, but other anti-inflammatory and antiproliferative diseases. |
