3D Microfabrication and Bioimaging by using Two-Photon Absorbing Chromophores |

Two-photon absorption (TPA) is a non-linear optical process with promising applications such as optical power limiting, bioimaging, photodynamic therapy, optical data storage and 3D microfabrication. In this study, four two-photon absorbing compounds were synthesized (EMPA, EMPA-4Br, EMPA-4Branch, PASN) and their optical properties were analyzed in the organic solvents and water. Their TPA cross-sections (TPACS) were measured using two-photon fluorescence excitation method in the water and THF solvent. The TPACS of EMPA-4Branch containing long chain with extended side arm and alkyl chain showed highest value in both solutions. Four compounds were applied for the 3D microfabrication and bioimaging, and each results were compared on the basis of the compounds TPACS. |
