Two-photon tandem photoanode with black phosphorus quantum dot-sensitized BiVO4 for solar water splitting |
초록 |
The photoelectrochemical water splitting efficiency has been profoundly restricted by the limited light harvesting, rapid charge recombination and sluggish water oxidation kinetics for a long time. Herein, tailored black phosphorus quantum dots (BPQDs) with great light absorbability up to the near-infrared region (NIR) sensitizes visible light well-responsive BiVO4 photoanodes to demonstrate a two-photon absorption tandem photoanode with a P/N heterojunction interface with a prolonged hole lifetime. A subsequent TiO2 overlayer significantly improves the stability of the BiVO4/BPQDs and eliminates the surface trap state to enhance charge separation. The wisely designed BiVO4/BPQDs/OL-OEC with multiple components, each with definite functions, achieves a photocurrent of 5.3 mA/cm2 at 1.23 V vs. RHE under AM 1.5 illumination, offering reference for achieving efficient solar-to-fuel conversion devices by combining photosensitizer and passivation layer. |
