제목 UV characteristics of polymer film for ultra-violet block
초록 We used only one base material via ion beam irradiation against general techniques using more than one material for ultra-violet block. There were several advantages that we can solve problems like thickness increasing, any changes of UV block materials according to the reacting temperature of adhesives, etc. We used polycarbonate film applied widely in the industry of UV block. One side of the surface of PC film was modified by irrediating heavy ions. UV block chacteristics, chemical changes, surface morphology of PC films and lightfastness(UV stability) of modified PC film were measured by UV spectrometer, FT-IR, AFM and Q-UV fastness tester analyses. As a results, it was showed that PC film modified with heavy ions was able to block almost all regions of UV light and control the degrees of UV block. And it was attributed to chemical changes of PC surface by ion beam. We expect that it can block UV light permanently because of no changes after UV fastness test.
