Epoxy acrylates oligomers have been widely used for coatings, inks, adhesives and lamination for two decades. Recently, the development of inorganic filler such as halogen containing compounds, graphite and metal hydroxides required to achieve a sufficient thermal stability of conventional epoxy acrylates in electrical applications. In our work, UV radiation curing of epoxy acrylate with phosphate type flame retardants, metal hydroxides in the presence of photoinitiator was studied. Montmorillonite (Nanomer I.28E) is also added to oligomer in order to reduce the detriment of physical properties of epoxy resin due to high loading of flame retardants. The effect of inorganic fillers on the thermal stability is investigated by performing thermal and rheological analysis. |
