Ethanol production from Ulva Lactuca hydrolysis by Yeast |
초록 |
As energy consumption rises along with global population, alternatives to fossil resources must be developed. To solve these problems, many researchers have tried to convert environmentally-freiendly biomass into fuel ethanol for an alternative to fossil fuels. In particular, macroalgal biomass is noticed as a significant potential substrate for ethanol production because of the following advantages: no lignin, CO2 fixation ability, and high contents of carbohydrate. In this session, we report the preliminary results of the ethanol fermentation of mixed monosugars derived from hydrolyzed Ulva lactuca known as one of the seaweed with the yeast, Brettanomyces custersii H1-39. |
