제목 EPON 828/Amine-Functionalized Short-Length Vapor Grown Carbon Nanofiber (AF-VGCNF) Nanocomposites
초록 This paper explores the functionalization of short-length vapor grown carbon nanofiber (VGCNF) (length range, ~5㎛) with aminobenzoyl moiety and its uses as a conductive filler as well as hardener to epoxy resin EPON 828 system. Thus, VGCNF was first functionalized with 4-aminobenzoic acid in polyphosphoric acid to afford aminobenzoyl-functionalized VGCNF (AF-VGCNF). It was mixed with EPON 828 by simple mechanical stirring in volatile solvents such as THF or dichloromethane, and then solution cast. After evaporation of solvent, which was added to help efficient mixing, the resultant nanocomposites were formed by dispersion of AF-VGCNF into EPON 828. Samples were studied the influence of different ratio of AF-VGCNF on the mechanical properties of EPON 828 matrix composites. As a result, the properties of the nanocomposites are expected to be enhanced due to the formation of covalent network between AF-VGCNF and EPON 828.
