Anion exchange membrane is synthesized from poly(arylene ether ketone) having imidazolium group as anion conductor for redox flow battery application. PAEK with imidazolium group was synthesized by polycondensation of 4,4'-bis(4-hydroxyphenyl) valeric acid with 4,4-difluorobenzophenone, and imidazolium group was introduced to PAEK backbone using 1,3-aminopropyl imidazole. Chemical structure of PAEK-API was confirmed by 1H-NMR. And the properties of membrane such as ion conductivity, vanadium ion permeability, and cell performance was tested for vanadium redox flow battery application. |
