제목 Isothermal Vapor-Liquid Equilibria and excess properties for Monocarboxylic acid binary mixtures
초록 In a typical ABE bio-butanol fermentation process, monocarboxylic acid: butyric(butanoic), propionic(propanoic) and acetic(ethanoic) acids are produced first by C.acetobutylicum. However, there are very few phase equilibrium data for containing monocarboxylic acids so far and very recently such studies are in progress. Since, the vapor-liquid equilibrium(VLE) data of the monocarboxylic acid contained systems are still insufficient, we have investigated systematically VLE and mixture properties for monocarboxylic acid mixtures. In this work, the VLE data for heptanoic acid contained binary systems were measured. In detail, the isothermal VLE data of {acetic acid + heptanoic acid}, {propionic acid + heptanoic acid}, {butyric acid + heptanoic acid} and {valeric acid + heptanoic acid} mixtures were reported by headspace gas chromatography. The experimental VLE data were correlated with NRTL, UNIQUAC and Wilson activity coefficient model. In addition, the excess molar volumes(VE) and deviation of refractive indices(ΔR) for the same binary systems were determined and correlated.
